As 2025 draws to a close, we reflect on an extraordinary community of creatives, collaborators and participants. We would like to share and celebrate a few highlights from our 2025 program.

Firstly a heartfelt thank-you to our patrons, chair and board of directors; donors; funders; arts, cultural, and science partners; participants; and audiences. This collective support enables The Corridor Project to provide public access to a dynamic program of regional arts and cultural experiences. Additionally this is made possible by engaging with a brilliant team of creatives who live and work in regional and metropolitan NSW.

After a long, glacial season for arts funding, the ice has finally cracked. We can now celebrate funding success to refurbish artist studios, exhibition and workshop spaces, upgrade equipment and present exceptional music programs to communities living in regional NSW during 2026. We end the year with gratitude and deep appreciation to all those who made this possible.

Residencies: ohhhhh what a year…local TCP-AiR news✨

In 2025, we supported over 100 regional and metropolitan visual and performance artists who connected to our residencies, exhibitions, workshops and events. We anticipate 2026 will ramp up to match (and possibly exceed) that momentum.

Word travels fast. Thanks to the generous “hummingbirds” who shared their experiences, our residency calendar 2026 is now near fully booked, we look forward to sharing what artists are developing over the next few months.

Congratulations to the resident artists whose work has been selected for major public prizes and exhibitions presented during 2025 in leading commercial, and public galleries. Celebrating Artistic Achievements

Congratulations to TCP-AiR artists who developed new work and gained significant achievements in 2025:

• Emily Ebbs – Winner, Paddington Art Prize (Sydney)

• Sammy Hawker – International residency and solo exhibition at Messums | West, UK (partnered with Messums | ORG)

• Clementine Bell McIntosh – Solo exhibition, Western Plains Cultural Centre (Dubbo)

• Linda Loh – Selected for a 10-metre video wall in the USA…looking forward to sharing more soon and finalist in Wyndham Prize, (Melbourne)

• Central West Artists - as part of the Cowra Hospital Creative Art Commissions now part of the Cowra Hospital collection managed by the NSW Health Infrastructure - Brigette Uren. Curatorium - Cowra Regional Art Gallery - Cassandra Hard Lawrie, Art OutWest - Steven Cavanaugh and Aleshia Lonsdale, The Corridor Project - Phoebe Cowdery.

International AiR exchange news

Our partnered International Residency Exchange Program with Messums | ORG has gathered momentum. This year we welcomed British artist painter Jelly Green to TCP in March. With Australian artist Sammy Hawker travelling to Messums | West for a durational residency and solo exhibition partnered between The Corridor Project and Messums | ORG ….works presented evolved from Sammy’s TCP-AiR residency.

Congratulations to Tyga Helme on presenting a solo exhibition “We are the Knots & Tangles” at Messums London accompanied by an catalogue with sensational essay by Australian art critic Peter Haynes based on Tyga’s experience on residency at TCP-AiR in 2024.

Science + Arts Hub - events and workshops 2025

As part of The Corridor Project [TCP] annual program we convene the Central West Science Hub [formerly called The Orange Cowra Cabonne Science Hub] we program unlikely STEAM [science technology engineering arts maths] experiences through place-based learning in natural environments, igniting new ways to further educational models and environmental awareness in regional NSW.

Thanks to the funding support from Inspiring Australia NSW, we had a standout year - delivering a dynamic program of science/arts events, panels, exhibitions, and workshops, we reached audiences over 100K delivered in-person and through digital platforms.

highlights include:

National Science Week, The Corridor Project (TCP) and the Central West Science Hub presented the second iteration of ERTHWRX, a multi-day public community event bringing together scientists, cultural knowledge holders, artists, architects, ecologists, and academics for a series of panels, exhibitions, and hands-on workshops.

Celebrating a decade of TCP programs, we showcased a 10-year retrospective of initiatives exploring regional environmental knowledge systems through both Indigenous and Western scientific perspectives.

We are now planning for ERTHWRX26 to be presented in August 2026, watch out for updates via our newsletters. Thanks to Inspiring Australia NSW managers Karen Player and Meredith Hall, and Chair of the IA-NSW Executive Committee Emily Jateff for their guidance and support, Cowra Micro Gallery, Club Cowra and Artists of Cowra East (ACE)

Funding for Infrastructure, Arts & Culture & Music

Our team and Board are delighted to receive successful infrastructure funding for facility upgrades supported by Club GrantsNSW, additionally we received funding for an ambitious new music program supported by REVIVE Live to be launched in spring 2026.

These investments strengthen the operations and programming of The Corridor Project—ensuring artists can continue to work safely and ambitiously with provision of new equity access. We look forward to artists joining us at TCP next year to immerse in a natural landscape filled with an abundance of endemic species, habitat, ecologies, rivers and seasonality.

Join us and your friends for the LAND exhibition developed from a group TCP-AiR residency during 2025, that brought together nine celebrated Australian artists responding to the atmosphere of place through direct, embodied experience. The works trace geology, weather, memory and cultural histories through abstraction and material experimentation—advancing contemporary discourse in Australian landscape painting. Select works will be for sale.

Field is a new annual publication that celebrates regional architecture, its people and visions. Produced by the Regional Architecture Association (RAA), Field introduces projects, initiatives and ideas emerging from key RAA conversations, and extends them to a broader audience. Field is about connecting community and sparking conversations, sharing knowledge and celebrating craft in architecture. Not just for architects, but for anyone interested in both the built and natural environments.

The first issue spans themes as diverse as housing strategy, regional resilience, and the future of public works procurement. It delves into the material realities of practice - from hempcrete construction and prefabrication to the challenges of building in remote contexts — and offers perspectives that stretch from the East Coast to Central Australia. Through essays, project profiles, and conversations, it captures how architects, communities, and makers are shaping more responsive, resourceful, and connected regional places.

We acknowledge First Nation people across Australia and their continued connection to their lands, waters, and culture. Our organisation is situated on the traditional lands of the Wiradjuri people, known as the ‘people of three rivers’ for the Wambool [Macquarie], Galari [Lachlan], and Murrumbidjerie [Murrumbidgee River], which border their lands. We respect Elders past and present and the roles that Aboriginal artists play in contributing to their culture.

About Us

The Corridor Project [TCP] is a not-for-profit arts and cultural organisation with charitable status located on Wiradjuri country, in the Central West of NSW, Australia established in 2011. TCP is located alongside the Bila Galari - Lachlan River, our regional facilities include restored shearers quarters and a repurposed historic woolshed that are the architecture for artists and community to stay and create in the landscape. We offer studio spaces, accommodation and equipment. Our program is inspired by the striking granite strewn hills, river systems, expansive night skies, and habitat corridors of the surrounding landscape.
