“I loved participating in the Natural Dye and Ink Making Workshop as part of the Central West Science Hub facilitated by The Corridor Project. The whole experience was inspiring and immersive. It was fascinating to gain insights into the motivations and processes that drove our tutors Clementine Belle McInstosh and Emily Ebbs art practices while having the freedom to experiment with natural dye and ink in a painterly way. The option to share delicious, nourishing meals and stay in the shearer’s quarters alongside the rest of the group was conducive to conversation and connections that will continue beyond the workshop. The instruction was gentle and thought provoking, allowing space for us to learn equally from place, from noticing and collecting invasive plants, to wandering along the casuarina lined Bila Galari/Lachlan River, to spreading our dye-stained canvases out on the floor of the historic woolshed repurposed for artist studios, exhibition spaces and events. I drove home excited about how these new materials and processes might make their way into my future projects.””
